Clearlight offers a graduated curriculum, the pre-requisite for this course is Complete Mindfulness For BeginnersThe practice of meditation is a process of awakening to joyful appreciation of being alive. This process involves dropping out of our habitual preoccupation with endless thinking, and coming more fully into conscious contact with the direct experience of embodiment. In this 6 week summer course we’ll take a deep dive into the refreshing waters of Mindfulness of the Body. We’ll explore how to come into the body with awareness, how to cultivate relaxation and present moment attention, appreciating the 5 sense perceptions, working with discomfort, awareness of the body in movement, and making friends with the body we’ve got.

Mindfulness of Body is such a rich area for practice that the Buddha set it apart as a main focus for exploration. In today’s world, it plays a major part in programs oriented to stress reduction and relaxation. Whatever your situation, mindfulness of the body is valuable for everyone – and it’s a great way to deepen your existing meditation practice.

Classes include guided meditation, talks, exercises and discussion. The class format offers opportunity for personal guidance from a qualified teacher as well as for sharing experiences with others in the class. Every class will be recorded and made available on a weekly basis to all registered students for listening and downloading via the internet. Participants are encouraged to use the recorded meditations for daily practice. With these recordings, you’ll never miss a class – even on vacation.
