Moving with Intention

As we head into the Fall Season, this is a perfect time to pause, reflect and dive deep into moving forward with clear intentions. Weather we realize it or not, our entire life manifests on the tip of our intentions. Often times we move through life with surface intentions, not even realizing what is our deepest alignment. This workshop will be an exploration and excavation into your deepest hearts alignment through meditation, mindful-vinyasa and reflection.

We will begin with a talk about intentions and take time to reflect through writing and guided meditation. We will move through a slow, spacious, rhythmic all-levels vinyasa, and end with a guided meditation. You will leave with a greater alignment to your hearts intention.

Please wear comfortable clothes, and bring a journal and pen.

As experienced meditators will tell you, the skill of meditation is not something easily accomplished by reading about it in a book or attending a single introductory talk. Meditation is both simple and subtle and asks us to patiently re-train our bodies and minds in peace and simplicity. It is something that takes practice. Developing a practice, it helps to have the support of a live instructor, the opportunity to practice, ask questions and learn from experience. 

The purpose of this course is to introduce the fundamental techniques of meditation and stress reduction in a structured 8-week program. Topics covered in this introductory series include:

  • The purpose of meditation
  • How it works
  • Relaxation
  • Training in attention
  • Awareness of Breathing
  • Common challenges and remedies
  • Benefits of the practice

Each weekly meeting will include guided meditation, talks, and discussion.  The class format is set up to provide opportunity for personal guidance from a qualified teacher as well as for sharing experiences with others in the class. Seating options include chairs or meditation cushions. 

For those relatively new to meditation, this is the place to start.

Join Kristin and Rachael in Northern Iceland to explore one of the most beautiful and peaceful placed on earth. This is a trip of a lifetime that will be both an inner exploration through yoga and meditation, and an outer exploration of a wonderland of moonlike lava fields, snow capped volcanic peaks and geothermal hot springs at 66 degrees North, just south of the arctic circle.

Fairytale Icelandic winter whites will be the backdrop for this spectacular week with sun during the day and bright moonlit nights providing fascinating light shows–including a possible mystic dance of the Northern Lights. The cold outside is balanced beautifully by the hot geothermal baths and Jacuzzis that is a national past-time of the warm and adventurous Icelandic people.

In this majestic and tranquil landscape, morning yoga classes will be followed by group excursions and explorations.

Summer Solstice Vin/Yin Celebration with Kristin Page and Rachael Hunter

The summer solstice marks the longest day in the year and is a celebration of yin, earth and femininity. On this day that embodies the highest expression of light, growth and activity we will take time to explore these opposite yet complementary qualities using the breath, movement and stillness. In this 2 hour workshop we will honour the balance between these two interconnected forces.

 

In the first hour we will cultivate heat and energy with a mindful slow moving vinyasa flow to build fire, transitioning to a meditative yin sequence to cool and ground body and mind. The workshop is suitable for all levels and will include pranayama and meditation.

 

After the practice "The Juice Philly" will have samples of fresh and delicious juice for us to try, and also full juices for purchase.
