The Winter Solstice marks an auspicious day, when we begin to emerge from the darkness back into the light. On this shortest day of the year, that embodies the yin qualities of darkness, introspection and grounding, we can honor the pause as we celebrate the return of the light, growth and activity of yang.
As we head out of Summer and into Fall, taking a day to slow down, reflect, and reset is possibly the best gift we can offer ourselves and those around us.
Our yoga practice is a way for us to both rejuvenate and energize, physically and mentally. In this one day retreat we will step back from the busyness and get reacquainted with the calm steadiness that we cultivate through breath, movement and stillness.
We are offering our next one day Urban Retreat on Sunday October 7, 12:30-6pm. Starting with a 2h practice we will build heat through pranayama and a slow strong vinyasa practice - easing tension and boosting energy. Transitioning into reflection, and closing with a guided meditation and a sweet savasana. A one hour break gives us time to nourish our bodies with a fresh delicious juice delivered from The Juice Merchant, and tasty and healthy home-made treats.
The late afternoon session will be for slowing down with a gentle vinyasa flow to land and settle, and finish with some grounding yin poses to invite in stillness and calm.
Suitable for all levels.
There is an art to this; pausing, reflecting, being comfortable with stillness, seeing ourselves with compassion, and moving forward with clarity. Often times we move through life with surface intentions, not even realizing what is our deepest aspiration.

We will begin with a talk about intentions and take time to reflect through writing and guided meditation. We will move through a slow, spacious, rhythmic all-levels vinyasa, and end with a guided meditation.
My intention is that you will leave with a greater alignment to your deepest heart's desire. Please wear comfortable clothes, and bring a journal and pen.
