As experienced meditators will tell you, the skill of meditation is not something easily accomplished by reading a book. Meditation is simple but subtle, and asks us to patiently re-train our bodies and minds in peace and simplicity so that we can experience the benefits of greater relaxation, lower stress, increased clarity and general well-being.

This course will introduce you step by step to the practice of mindfulness. You will learn fundamental meditation techniques including the body scan, mindfulness of breathing, walking meditation and more.

Join Kristin and Rachael in Northern Iceland to explore one of the most beautiful and peaceful placed on earth. This is a trip of a lifetime that will be both an inner exploration through yoga and meditation, and an outer exploration of a wonderland of moonlike lava fields, snow capped volcanic peaks and geothermal hot springs at 66 degrees North, just south of the arctic circle.

Fairytale Icelandic winter whites will be the backdrop for this spectacular week with sun during the day and bright moonlit nights providing fascinating light shows–including a possible mystic dance of the Northern Lights. The cold outside is balanced beautifully by the hot geothermal baths and Jacuzzis that is a national past-time of the warm and adventurous Icelandic people.

In this majestic and tranquil landscape, morning yoga classes will be followed by group excursions and explorations.

A one-day yoga and meditation urban retreat

As we head out of Summer and into Fall, taking a day to slow down, reflect, and reset is possibly the best gift we can offer ourselves and those around us.

Our yoga practice is a way for us to both rejuvenate and energize, physically and mentally. In this one day retreat we will step back from the busyness and get reacquainted with the calm steadiness that we cultivate through breath, movement and stillness.

We are offering our next one day Urban Retreat on Sunday October 7, 12:30-6pm. Starting with a 2h practice we will build heat through pranayama and a slow strong vinyasa practice - easing tension and boosting energy. Transitioning into reflection, and closing with a guided meditation and a sweet savasana. A one hour break gives us time to nourish our bodies with a fresh delicious juice delivered from The Juice Merchant, and tasty and healthy home-made treats.

The late afternoon session will be for slowing down with a gentle vinyasa flow to land and settle, and finish with some grounding yin poses to invite in stillness and calm.

Suitable for all levels.

There is an art to this; pausing, reflecting, being comfortable with stillness, seeing ourselves with compassion, and moving forward with clarity. Often times we move through life with surface intentions, not even realizing what is our deepest aspiration.

Join Kristin Page an exploration and excavation into your deepest hearts alignment through meditation, reflection, and slow, all-levels mindful vinyasa. We will begin with a talk about intentions and take time to reflect through writing and guided meditation. We will move through a slow, spacious, rhythmic all-levels vinyasa, and end with a guided meditation.

My intention is that you will leave with a greater alignment to your deepest heart's desire. Please wear comfortable clothes, and bring a journal and pen.

Clearlight offers a graduated curriculum, the pre-requisite for this course is Complete Mindfulness For BeginnersThe practice of meditation is a process of awakening to joyful appreciation of being alive. This process involves dropping out of our habitual preoccupation with endless thinking, and coming more fully into conscious contact with the direct experience of embodiment. In this 6 week summer course we’ll take a deep dive into the refreshing waters of Mindfulness of the Body. We’ll explore how to come into the body with awareness, how to cultivate relaxation and present moment attention, appreciating the 5 sense perceptions, working with discomfort, awareness of the body in movement, and making friends with the body we’ve got.

Meditation is both simple and subtle and asks us to patiently re-train our bodies and minds in peace and simplicity. It is something that takes practice. Developing a practice, it helps to have the support of a live instructor, the opportunity to practice, ask questions and learn from experience. 

The purpose of this course is to introduce the fundamental techniques of meditation and stress reduction in a structured 8-week program. Topics covered in this introductory series include:

  • The purpose of meditation
  • How it works
  • Relaxation
  • Training in attention
  • Awareness of Breathing
  • Common challenges and remedies
  • Benefits of the practice

Each weekly meeting will include guided meditation, talks, and discussion.  The class format is set up to provide opportunity for personal guidance from a qualified teacher as well as for sharing experiences with others in the class. Seating options include chairs or meditation cushions. 

For those relatively new to meditation, this is the place to start.
